Identification of time delays in COVID-19 data

چکیده

Abstract Objective COVID-19 data released by public health authorities is subject to inherent time delays. Such delays have many causes, including in reporting and the natural incubation period of disease. We develop introduce a numerical procedure recover distribution these from data. Methods extend previously-introduced compartmental model with nonlinear, distributed-delay term general distribution, obtaining an integrodifferential equation. show this can be approximated weighted-sum constant time-delay terms, yielding linear problem for weights. Standard optimization then used weights, approximating demonstrate viability approach against Italy Austria. Results find that delay-distributions both Austria follow Gaussian-like profile, mean around 11 14 days. However, we note delay does not appear across all types, infection, recovery, mortality showing slightly different trends, suggesting presence independent each processes. also found recovered delay-distribution sensitive discretization resolution. Conclusions These results establish validity introduced identification time-delays Our methods are limited COVID-19, may applied other types epidemiological data, or indeed any dynamical system effects.

Time Series Modeling of Coronavirus (COVID-19) Spread in Iran

Various types of Coronaviruses are enveloped RNA viruses from the Corona-viridae family and part of the Coronavirinae subfamily. This family of viruses affects neurological, gastrointestinal, hepatic, and respiratory systems. Recently, a new memb-er of this family, named Covid-19, is moving around the world. The expansion of Covid-19 carries many risks, and its control requires strict planning ...

Assessment of Clinical and Laboratory Data among the Readmitted COVID-19 and Non COVID-19 Patients in Iran

Background and Objective: Hospital readmissions are common and expensive. Identifying the patients who are at high risk of readmission can decrease readmission. Hence, in the present study, the clinical characteristics, biomarker results, and Computed Tomography (CT) criteria of all the readmitted patients were assessed. Materials and Methods: Data of 98 readmitted patients to the Baqiyatallah...

Time Delays in Cosmic Ray Propagation

Cosmic Rays (CR) travel at speeds essentially indistinguishable from the speed of light. However whilst travelling through magnetic fields, both regular and turbulent, they are delayed behind the light since they are usually charged particles and their paths are not linear. Those delays can be so long that they are an impediment to correctly identifying sources which may be variable in time. Fu...
